John Quentin Heywood is the information architect and digital media librarian at the Washington College of Law, although neither he nor anyone else is quite sure exactly what that title means. As the library's information architect and webmaster, he designs the website and databases. He is also heading the Electronic Text Project, which is dedicated to the provision of content on the Internet, focusing on materials related to international and domestic law. The first task of the ETP is the conversion of the documents of the Tokyo War Crimes Trials (the International Military Tribunal for the Far East) to electronic format for mounting on the Web. John is also an adjunct professor of international law at WCL, and has taught international law and a seminar on international courts. Previously, he taught legal methods for several years. He received his Juris Doctorate from the Washington College of Law in 1985, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Northern Arizona University in Psychology, Environmental Studies, and Political Science in 1982. He lives in Silver Spring, Maryland, with his wife Kirsten Kunz and their son Michael and daughter Caitlin. He used to enjoy sailing, reading, homebrewing, cooking, gardening, and croquet. He now enjoys diaper changing and keeping up with a toddler and a grade-schooler.
